The Hampshire Open was our last run out on the college Target Rifles of the summer term and before we compete in the Imperial meeting in July. 9 firers competed in individual and cadet team competitions at 3/6/900 and 1000 yards and they produced some very good results.

We started at long range due to target availability. Matthew Keel the Long Range specialist once again produced the best scores with a 94&8v’s. Out best Tyro was Keisha Farley 89&8v’s. Short Range saw Maya Beaton Jaramillo as our top shot with a 97&14v’s. Her 49&9V’s at 300 yards was our best score of the day. Frustratingly she dropped her first shot but that does not detract from a great card. Best Tyro with a fantastic performance in only her second Open competition was Roanna Weinberger with 97&10v’s

The cadet teams named for the day the Falcons and the Jackdaws saw their individual scores taken into account. The Falcons, Keel, Farley, Mace and Beaton Jaramillo were placed second at long range and won at short range.

There were 3 Medals for Maya Beaton Jaramillo, 2 medals for Matthew Keel and the Falcons won a medal for short range. Roanna Weinberger won a cash prize for her score as the best Tyro on the day at short range.

A great way to end the term and we now look forward to the Schools Meeting and Imperial Meeting in July.
